Mkeyz Trading and Projects was started in 2022 by Zibusiso Mkhize, who still runs the company as Managing Director today. He grew up and went to school in the South Coast area of Umzumbe, so this is home, and the work means more to him than a balance sheet. He started the business with one thing in mind: to create work for young people in the area and give them a real way forward.

What we do is civil works construction. That means roads, drainage, kerbs and paving for the most part, with events management handled on the side. Since 2022 we have completed projects for municipalities and for private contractors, and a good number of them keep coming back. That repeat work says more about us than anything we could write on a page.

We are not the biggest name in the province and we have never tried to be. What we are is reliable. We finish what we start, we charge a fair price, and we treat every job like it matters, because to us it does. When a client hands us a contract, they are trusting us with their road, their site, their money and their deadline. We do not take that lightly.

There is a bigger reason behind all of it too. When we win a contract, it is not just income for the business. It means a few more young people from KZN get work, learn a trade and pick up skills they can carry for the rest of their lives. That part matters to Zibusiso as much as the work itself.
